Regulation of Blood Glucose and Lipid Profile through Administration of Indigenous Foods in Niddm Patients

It is well known that in treatment of diabetes mellitus diet therapy plays an important role. In recent years several studies indicate that fibre has a significant influence on the postprandial blood glucose levels, A decrease in serum glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL cholesterol and an increase in HDL cholesterol was observed in subjects eating a high fibre (40g/day) diet.
