Jenu Kuruba, listed as one of the primitive tribal groups of Karnataka, mainly inhabit the districts of Mysore and Kodagu. The Kurubas of Karnataka are basically a forest dwelling tribe. They subsist partly on primitive agriculture and partly on forest produce. The lands they own are Invariably dry with no assured irrigation and drought prone.
