Nutrient Content of Chenopodium album (L.) as Influenced by Liquid Biofertilizers, Chemical Fertilizers and Vermicompost

Chenopodium comprises of about 250 species, which are Inerbaceous, suffrutescent and arborescent perennials and belong to the family Amarantlnaceae. It is commonly known as Sakravarthikeerai or Parupukeerai In Tamli. The leaves and young shoots may be eaten as a leafy vegetable, either steamed or cooked ilke spinach. Chenopod leaves are rich In carotenolds, protein and also a g o o d source of calcium , phosphorus, potassium, trace elements, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C and fiber.
